Mary Dyson Scholar recognised by Forbes Poland

Natalia Narozanska, who was awarded a Mary Dyson Scholarship in 2018, has been announced as the winner of the New Technologies category in the Forbes Poland '25 under 25' list.

Natalia Narozanska has been announced as the winner of the New Technologies category in the '25 Under 25 List' compiled by Forbes Poland and McKinsey & Company. Natalia was awarded the prize recognition of her idea for a fast solar-powered aircraft, a project inspired by the fantail - a bird native to New Zealand.  Natalia said: “Being named on the Forbes Poland '25 Under 25 list' is the kind of thing that leaves you speechless. I was shocked that the committee picked the topic of sustainable flight. It's a big motivational kick."

In 2018, Natalia's passion and enthusiasm for her project earned her a £2500 scholarship from the James Dyson Foundation. The Mary Dyson Scholarship programme is named after James Dyson's mother. Each year, up to four grants are awarded to female engineering students at Murray Edwards college, where Mary Dyson studied, to support their studies and development. Scholars must complete an application and interview process before being selected. The funds received from the scholarship allowed Natalia to test her concept design in a wind tunnel at the Dyson Centre for Engineering Design, using a scaled model and a high-speed camera.
